J.C. Blair Women’s Care Center Welcomes Nurse Practitioner

J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of obstetrician/gynecologist nurse practitioner Romona Shope, RNC, CRNP, to its medical staff. She joined Drs. Norman Navarro and Joseph Meyn in J.C. Blair’s Women’s Care Center. “Romona is a welcome addition to J.C. Blair Women’s Care Center,” said J.C. Blair Medical Services Practice Administrator Kim McGraw. “She will be the perfect complement to Drs. Navarro and Meyn.”

The Auxiliary to J.C. Blair Sponsors 8th Annual Wear Red Luncheon

February is Heart Health Month and The Auxiliary to J.C. Blair is teaming up with J.C. Blair’s Women’s Heart Health Initiative to sponsor the eighth annual Wear Red Day Luncheon on Friday, February 13, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. in the Ellis Hall Ballroom at Juniata College. The featured speaker will be Jennifer Jones, MPH, Community Engagement Coordinator at the University of Pittsburgh, Graduate School of Public Health. Her presentation is entitled “My Heart, My Health, My Center.” Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in advance at J.C.

J.C. Blair Anesthesia Department Celebrates CRNA Week

In recognition of their profession’s long history and enduring record of patient safety, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) at J.C. Blair Hospital in Huntingdon and across the country are celebrating the 16th annual National CRNA Week, January 25-31, 2015, with the unified mantra “Quality and Excellence in Anesthesia Care.”

New Advanced Cardiology Test now at J.C. Blair

J.C. Blair’s team of cardiologists will soon have a new tool to view the heart and its chambers with the purchase of a transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) probe.

FCMC and J.C. Blair Announce Combined Leadership

Fulton County Medical Center (FCMC) and J.C. Blair Health System today announced they have executed an agreement for a common leadership team. The agreement takes effect on January 30, 2015, and subcontracts two FCMC leaders to J.C. Blair on a part-time basis. Both FCMC Chief Executive Officer Jason Hawkins and Chief Financial Officer Deborah Shughart will oversee both organizations’ operations, but each organization’s governance will remain independent.

The Foundation to J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital’s board is pleased to announce Linda Carpenter as the new Executive Director of Development and J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital Foundation.

The J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital Foundation is a non-profit, independent corporation whose sole mission is to provide financial support for J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital. This support is used to provide new equipment for the hospital and to enhance health care programs in Huntingdon County.

J.C. Blair Medical Services, Inc. is pleased to announce Physician’s Assistant Russ Sharpless will be joining the physicians and staff of J.C.
