10th Annual Scott Grugan Memorial 5K is October 29

Huntingdon, PA, 10/17/16 –The 10th Annual Scott Grugan Memorial 5K and One Mile Trail Run or Walk will take place on Saturday, October 29 at Flag Pole Hill, Huntingdon. The run honors the former chief radiologist at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, who died in 2005. Dr. Grugan was not only a well-respected physician and member of the Huntingdon community, but also an avid runner.

Xenex Germ-Zapping Robot Enhances Quality at J.C. Blair

Huntingdon, PA (10/14/16) – J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital recently invested in a Xenex germ-zapping robot that is assisting the hospital environmental services staff with the cleaning of patient and procedure rooms. The Xenex robot, named “Rosie” by the hospital staff, was purchased with the support of a generous donation from the J.C. Blair Foundation.

The Pyxis system was made possible with a generous gift from the J.C. Blair Foundation.

The Cindy Taylor Memorial Wear Pink Day Luncheon

Huntingdon, PA (9/26/16) – October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and J.C. Blair’s Women’s Imaging Center is kicking off the month with the fourth annual Cindy Taylor Memorial Wear Pink Luncheon on Friday, October 7, at 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Ellis Hall Ballroom at Juniata College. The featured speaker will be Ramona Shope, CRNP, of the J.C. Blair Women’s Care Center. Tickets are $10, and available for purchase at the J.C. Blair Hospital Information Desk or through until Friday, September 30.

J.C. Blair to Host Health Insurance Outreach Events

Huntingdon, PA (9/12/2016) – J.C. Blair Health System, a PinnacleHealth affiliate, will host a two day health insurance outreach event entitled “Understanding and Navigating the Upcoming Health Insurance Open Enrollment Period.”  The event will be held in the hospital’s main lobby on Monday, September 26, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Tuesday, September 27, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Health insurance experts from the Area Agency on Aging and the Huntingdon County Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services will join J.C.

J.C. Blair & Huntingdon PennDOT Employees Team Up for Kids

J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital and the employees of Huntingdon PennDOT partnered for the twelfth year in a bike raffle at the Hospital’s Huntingdon County Fair booth. Each year, PennDOT employees raise funds to purchase a girls and boys bike for giveaway. Winners this year were Ian Yutzy, age 9, of Petersburg and Sofia Fortney, age 5, of Huntingdon. Bike helmets were also provided to both winners to ensure safe play on their new bikes.
