Juniata Valley Schools Celebrate National Bike to School Day May 4
Huntingdon, PA, 5/2/16– Drivers traveling on Route 305 between Petersburg and Alexandria on Wednesday, May 4, may encounter possible traffic delays between 7:45 – 8:30 a.m. Students from Juniata Valley School District will be participating in the 5th Annual National Bike to School Day and will be biking to school during these times.
Approximately 30 students will be biking to school Wednesday, May 4, along with parents, teachers and community leaders.
JCBlair611 State College Imaging Center Installs New Computed Tomography (CT) system
Huntingdon, PA (4/29/16) – JCBlair611 State College Imaging Center announced that it has installed a new Toshiba AquilionTM 32 – an advanced multi-slice computed tomography (CT) system – for a high-quality, low-radiation-dose, low-cost CT scan. This new CT system can quickly scan any region of the body, providing the essential information physicians need to make confident diagnoses. Although the radiation amount is lower, the image quality isn’t compromised.
Community Members Support J.C. Blair ER Expansion Project
J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital’s emergency room expansion project is receiving support from across the community. Local individuals and couples have come together to add financial commitments to the first upgrade of the local emergency room since the 1970s. Recently, Ed and Carol Anderson, John and Jeannine Coursen, Scot and Rosemary Gill, Alison Goodman, Dr. Maria Pettinger, Jack and Pat Reihart, Dr. Jim Schall, and John and Martha Swigart all added their names to the growing list of supporters. Each has committed at a level that will allow for a naming opportunity in the facility.
JC Blair/Kiwanis Sponsor Community Wellness Check May 7
J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital and the Kiwanis Club of Huntingdon are partnering for the fifth year to offer a Community Wellness Check on Saturday, May 7, from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the J.C. Blair Education Center on the Hospital campus in Huntingdon. The Wellness Check is an affordable, comprehensive blood test – over $350 value for just $40. Appointments are recommended and can be made by calling the J.C. Blair Call Center at (814) 643-8484.

J.C. Blair Hospital joins hundreds of cities across the country that offer Safe Sitter® babysitting training classes. The medically accurate program teaches boys and girls 11 years and older how to handle emergencies when caring for younger children.
Dr. Lillie Rejoins J.C. Blair Medical Staff
The board, administration, and staff of J.C. Blair Health System, Inc. are pleased to welcome family practice physician Tracy Lillie, M.D., back to the Hospital’s medical staff. Dr. Lillie will start staffing the Convenient Care Center in the Giant Plaza this week and will begin seeing her own patients later this month.

Huntingdon Couple Gives Back
Long-time Huntingdon residents and J.C. Blair advocates Phil and Pam Thompson are making a gift of $10,000 to name a patient exam room in support of J.C. Blair’s Emergency Department expansion project. Both Mr. and Mrs. Thompson are ‘Directors Emeriti’ of the J. C. Blair Health System Board of Directors, and Mrs. Thompson served as Board Chairman from 1996 to 1999. The Thompsons shared, “We’ve watched the hospital go through many changes over the years, and we appreciate the efforts of both the management and staff to provide us with quality emergency care.
