JC Blair to Close Maternity Unit November 7

Huntingdon, PA (9/21/18) Hospital officials announced today that J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital will no longer deliver babies after November 6, 2018. The decision comes after years of financial challenges and declining births. “While this is a very difficult and emotional decision for the hospital board, administration and staff, we feel it is a necessary decision to ensure the sustainability of the hospital and essential services needed by the community we serve,” said Interim Administrator Joe Myers.

J.C. Blair CEO Returns to UPMC Pinnacle as Vice President of Operations

Huntingdon, PA, 7/25/18 – J.C. Blair Health System President and CEO Adam Dimm announced his plan to leave his post at J.C. Blair effective August 1, 2018. He returns to UPMC Pinnacle as vice president of operations, working directly with UPMC Pinnacle CEO Phil Guarneschelli.

Huntingdon, PA (7/25/18) - After months of hard work and negotiations, the Strategic Partnership Committee of the J.C. Blair Health System Board of Directors is pleased to announce that it has executed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Post Acute Medical, LLC that enables the two health systems to work together to finalize a formal partnership agreement. 

J.C. Blair Prepares for Safe Fireworks Viewing

Huntingdon, PA, 6/28/18 – Many area residents enjoy the Huntingdon fireworks display from the large parking lot at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital each year. Concerned for patient access and safety, as well as the safety of those viewing the fireworks, hospital administration and security and safety staff will be restricting the number of vehicles and the time vehicles will be permitted to access the hospital property for fireworks viewing.

Traffic Delays Possible Between Alexandria and Petersburg

Huntingdon, PA, 5/7/18– Drivers traveling on Route 305 between Petersburg and Alexandria on Wednesday, May 9, may encounter possible traffic delays between 7:45 – 8:30 a.m. Students from Juniata Valley School District will be participating in the 7th annual National Bike to School Day and will be biking to school during these times.  Additionally, students will be riding back to the fire halls at 3:00 p.m.

J.C. Blair Auxiliary Gala Raises $49,141 for Endoscopy Suite

Huntingdon, PA (4/3/18) – In recognition of Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, the Gala Committee of The Auxiliary to J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital presented a check for $49,141 to the staff and physicians of the Endoscopy Department at the Hospital. These proceeds were used to build and equip a second endoscopy suite to accommodate the increasing demand for colorectal cancer screening. Seated are, left to right, J.C. Anesthesiologist Joins J.C. Blair Medical Staff

Dr. Forsythe joined the J.C. Blair anesthesiology team of Dr. Atif Farag, M.D., and certified anesthetists at J.C. Blair on January 10, 2018.

JC Blair Nurse Anethetists Recognized Week of Jan 21-27
