Marklesburg Church Donates Jared Boxes to J.C. Blair
Huntingdon, PA (12/21/2017) – St. Mathews Lutheran Church Pastor Jennifer Soltis and parishioner Vicky Huggler donated ‘Jared Boxes’ to be given to pediatric patients at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Receiving the gifts are J.C. Blair medical/surgical nurses Gail Anders and Stephanie Stratton.

Pulmonologist Joins JC Blair Medical Staff
Huntingdon, PA (11/13/2017) – J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon is pleased to announce the appointment of pulmonologist Robert Gillio, M.D. to its medical staff. Dr. Gillio will serve as the medical director for the health system’s new Pulmonary Care Center in which he will oversee a new program of lung disease education, prevention, screening, diagnosis and treatment. Fellowship trained at the Mayo Clinic, he brings years of clinical experience, having practiced in Pittsburgh, Lancaster, and Penn State Hershey. He complements pulmonologist Jeff Ratner, M.D.
J.C. Blair Invites Community to Annual Breakfast Meeting
The Board of Directors of the J.C. Blair Health System, Inc., a PinnacleHealth Affiliate, extends an invitation to area residents to attend the 2017 Annual Community Meeting on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 7:30 a.m. in the J.C. Blair Education Center on the Hospital’s campus in Huntingdon. The meeting will feature hospital leadership sharing highlights of the past fiscal year and plans for the future.

Ob/Gyn Joins JC Blair Medical Staff
Huntingdon, PA (9/18/2017) – J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon is pleased to announce the appointment of obstetrician/gynecologist Diane Adams, D.O., FACOOG, to its medical staff. Dr. Adams joined Broad Top Area Medical Center’s Women’s Care Center in August. She brings specialized skills in minimally invasive hysterectomy and advanced surgical techniques which complements the obstetrics and gynecology team of Ralph Aldinger, D.O., and Romona Shope, CRNP.
J.C. Blair & Huntingdon PennDOT Employees Team Up for Kids
J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital and the employees of Huntingdon PennDOT partnered to offer a free bike raffle at the Hospital’s Huntingdon County Fair booth. Winners this year were Katelyn Kyper, age 7, of Huntingdon and Carson Riley, age 8, also of Huntingdon. Each year Huntingdon PennDOT employees collect donations to purchase the bikes for the fair. Bike helmets were also provided to both winners. Over 600 children entered the bike drawing this year.
Nurses Recognize Longtime Ob/Gyn Physician
Maternity nurse Sabrina Waters, RN, and Director of Maternal Health Services Rita Notestine, RN, adjusted a plaque hung in the maternity department at J.C. Blair Hospital recognizing J.C. Blair Obstetrician/Gynecologist Dr. Ken Lee for his 37 years of service at J.C. Blair. Dr. Lee most recently worked for J.C. Blair’s Women’s Gynecological Care Center which closed July 1.
Pediatrician Joins J.C. Blair Medical Staff
J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon is pleased to announce the appointment of pediatrician Joseph A. Castel, M.D., to its medical staff. Dr. Castel joined Broad Top Area Medical Center’s Pediatric Care Center on July 10, 2017. He brings specialized skills and interest in mental health and nutrition which complements the already excellent pediatric team at J.C. Blair.
J.C. Blair Prepares for Safe Fireworks Viewing
Huntingdon, PA, 6/29/17 – Many area residents enjoy the Huntingdon fireworks display from the large parking lot at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital each year. Concerned for patient access and safety, as well as the safety of those viewing the fireworks, hospital administration and security and safety staff will be restricting the number of vehicles and the time vehicles will be permitted to access the hospital property for fireworks viewing this year.
