Traffic Delays Possible Between Alexandria and Petersburg

Huntingdon, PA, 5/7/18– Drivers traveling on Route 305 between Petersburg and Alexandria on Wednesday, May 9, may encounter possible traffic delays between 7:45 – 8:30 a.m. Students from Juniata Valley School District will be participating in the 7th annual National Bike to School Day and will be biking to school during these times.  Additionally, students will be riding back to the fire halls at 3:00 p.m.

J.C. Blair Auxiliary Gala Raises $49,141 for Endoscopy Suite

Huntingdon, PA (4/3/18) – In recognition of Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, the Gala Committee of The Auxiliary to J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital presented a check for $49,141 to the staff and physicians of the Endoscopy Department at the Hospital. These proceeds were used to build and equip a second endoscopy suite to accommodate the increasing demand for colorectal cancer screening. Seated are, left to right, J.C. Anesthesiologist Joins J.C. Blair Medical Staff

Huntingdon, PA (1/23/2018) – J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon is pleased to announce the appointment of anesthesiologist Danny Forsythe, M.D., to its medical staff. Dr. Forsythe joined the J.C. Blair anesthesiology team of Dr. Atif Farag, M.D., and certified anesthetists at J.C. Blair on January 10, 2018.

JC Blair Nurse Anethetists Recognized Week of Jan 21-27

Huntingdon, PA, 1/22/18 -- Nurse anesthetists across the country will educate the public on how they make a difference to their patients and the U.S. healthcare system during the 19th annual National CRNA Week observance January 21-27, 2018.

This year’s theme, “Every Breath, Every Beat, Every Second, We Are There” reflects how CRNAs dedicate themselves to each of their patients before, during and after surgery. CRNAs stay with their patients throughout their procedure to ensure the safest anesthesia experience possible.

J.C. Blair Names Executive Vice President

Huntingdon, PA (1/18/2018) – J.C. Blair Health System, Inc. in Huntingdon is pleased to welcome Joseph Myers to its leadership team as the health system’s new executive vice president. “Joe brings a nice mix of skills and knowledge to this position, both fiscal and operational, and he understands healthcare,” said J.C. Blair President and CEO Adam Dimm in making the announcement. Myers started his new position December 18.

J.C. Blair Restricts Visitation Due to Influenza

Huntingdon, PA, 1/10/18 –The administration and staff at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon is asking the community to restrict visitation to the Hospital, due to the number of people with influenza and the contagious nature of the flu. The hospital is modifying its visitation policy temporarily to protect patients, staff and the community.

Marklesburg Church Donates Jared Boxes to J.C. Blair

Huntingdon, PA (12/21/2017) – St. Mathews Lutheran Church Pastor Jennifer Soltis and parishioner Vicky Huggler donated ‘Jared Boxes’ to be given to pediatric patients at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Receiving the gifts are J.C. Blair medical/surgical nurses Gail Anders and Stephanie Stratton.
